Q: Who pays for bio-recovery services?

A: Ultimately, the property owner is responsible for the cost of the service. In most cases, however, home, business or car insurance will pay for this type of service, minus the deductible fees. Our service can make arrangements for repayment over a short period of time or can help with financing.

Q: Can I have an employee of my business do the clean-up?

A: Federal regulation #29CFR1910.1030 of the OSHA standards states that no employee can be placed in a position to be exposed to bloodborne pathogens or blood spills without receiving the following.

1. They must have received bloodborne pathogen training by a certified instructor.
2. The company must have a written bloodborne pathogen exposure control plan.
3. The employees must be provided with personal protective equipment.
4. The employee must have received the completed series of Hepatitis “B” injections.
5. The company must have properly marked containers for the removal and storage of all bio-hazardous waste that is to be removed from the scene.
6. The company must have a contract with a contractor that can remove and dispose of the bio-hazardous waste. This company must be certified by the EPA, CDC and OSHA.
